Dogs take over Plunkett Estate

Who let the dogs out?!

Pawlooza is back after a three year pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The dog-filled event at the Plunkett Estate at 9282 Elviage Drive is happening Saturday and coincides with International Homeless Animals' Day.

The organizers call the event, "Canada’s most unique and dog-friendly festival experience."

Dogs can be let off the leash to go dock diving or swimming in the Pawlooza pond or just run around in the FunZone. Dog owners can test their dog’s agility, watch agility demonstrations, or get advice about obedience or tricks.

There will also be contests, live music, merchant and food vendors, and a KidZone for two-legged family members.

More than 40 dog rescue groups will also be in attendance.

The festival runs from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Pawlooza is completely volunteer run and supports two local non-profit organizations - ARF Ontario and LEADS Employment Services. ARF works with First Nations and rural communities throughout Ontario to rescue, rehab, and re-home stray dogs and cats. LEADS helps people with disabilities and those who are vulnerable, to develop skills and gain and retain employment.
