City reducing services to protect Londoners from COVID-19

As part of the ongoing effort to quell the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the City of London has announced that it will now only be providing essential services to the public.

Starting at the close of the business day on Tuesday, the city will be closing City Hall, arenas, community centres, seniors' centres, pools, libraries, golf courses and the Provincial Offences Court until further notice.

Social services offices will be closed to the public as well, but those services will be available on the city's website.

The following city services will continue to operate: animal services, by-law and parking enforcement, fire services, garbage collection, recycling, along with water operations, treatment and sewers. Other services that are impacted can be found on the city's website by clicking here.

This decision comes the same day the province declared a state of emergency as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The recent service restrictions follow the city's decision to cancel and close a number of programs and facilities on Saturday.
