The Chatham Maroons' red-hot offence continued over the weekend, as the team made easy work of the Stratford Warriors.
The two teams faced off on Friday in Stratford, with the Maroons winning easily 7-1. Over the past three games, Chatham has outscored their opponents 22-3.
Opening the scoring in the first period was Matthew Crawford. This was the rookie's fifth goal of the season in just seven games. Santiago Jimenes and Josh Harding had the assists.
Ian Lachance doubled the lead less than two minutes later with his 11th goal of the season. Getting the assists on the play were Aydan Doyle and Alexander Lisi.
Trevor Zanutto would give the Maroons a three-goal lead after the first period with his team-leading 29th goal. He's now tied for the most goals in the league, with two fewer games played than Cambridge's Reid Gammage.
Lisi extended the lead early in the second period. His 13th goal was assisted by Lachance and Doyle.
Jaxon Priddle had his 16th goal a few minutes after Stratford was able to get its only goal of the game. The helpers on Priddle's goal went to Boris Genov and Lisi.
Carter Chadwick and Ewan McChesney each scored in the third period to wrap up a strong performance. Chadwick's 25th goal was assisted by McChesney and Genov, while McChesney's 19th goal was assisted by Priddle and Doyle.
Samuel DiBlasi made 24 saves for the win.
The Maroons won't be back in action until February 15, when they host the Listowel Cyclones. Puck drop will be at 7 p.m.
