Maroons' offence ignites for 15 goals in back-to-back wins

The Chatham Maroons' offence was out in full force over the weekend.

The team was in Sarnia on Thursday, where they easily beat the winless Legionnaires 9-1.

It took less than two minutes for the Maroons to open the scoring. Aidan Edwards collected his 11th goal of the season from Carter Kuchar and Josh Harding.

Trevor Zanutto would add his 28th goal later in the period. Ewan McChesney and Kaden Sienko with the helpers.

The second period saw the Maroons score five times.

Carter Chadwick scored his 22nd goal a few minutes before Jaxon Priddle got his 13th goal. Edwards and Kuchar with the assists on Chadwick's goal, while Boris Genov and Bo Doxtator assisted on Priddle's goal.

Ian Lachance later got his 10th goal from Parker Graham, with Graham scoring his 10th shortly after from Harding.

The last goal in the period was scored by Aydan Doyle. His eighth goal was assisted by McChesney and Max Skinner.

The third period saw McChesney get his 18th goal unassisted before Chadwick got his second of the game from McChesney and Genov.

Samuel DiBlasi lost his shutout late in the game, but managed to make 13 saves for the win.

The Maroons were back in action on Sunday, hosting the Strathroy Rockets.

The offence remained hot, as the team won 6-1.

Opening the scoring in the first was Genov. His third goal was assisted by Matthew Crawford and Doxtator.

Crawford later doubled the lead with his third goal. Getting the helpers were Seth Coomber and Xandre Aitken.

The Maroons once again had a strong second period, this time scoring three times.

Chadwick got the first, his 24th, from Lachance and Doyle.

The second goal was scored by Crawford. Doyle and Kuchar with the assists.

Getting the third was Priddle. Lachance and Braeden Burke with the assists on Priddle's 14th goal.

Priddle added a second goal in the third period from Lachance and Sienko.

DiBlasi was once again close to getting a shutout, but gave up a goal with around eight minutes left to play. He made 34 saves for the win.

The Maroons will be back in action on Friday in Stratford against the Warriors. Puck drop will be at 7:30 p.m.
