It was a successful weekend for the Chatham Maroons as they picked up two wins.
The team traveled to Listowel on Friday to take on the Cyclones, with the Maroons coming out on top 3-2.
Offence was tough to come by in the first two periods as the only goal came from Listowel's Jack O'Donnell.
Trevor Zanutto would tie the game early in the third period with his 12th goal. Getting the assists were Ewan McChesney and Josh Harding.
The Maroons got their first lead of the game halfway through the period when Kaden Sienko found the back of the net. His second goal of the season was assisted by Alexander Lisi.
Max Skinner extended the lead a few minutes later with his fourth goal. Harding and Gensen Geldart had the helpers.
Listowel would get another goal from O'Donnell with 30 seconds left, however, that was as close as the Cyclones would come to tying the game.
Samuel DiBlasi made 22 saves for the win.
While the Maroons' offence had a tough time against Listowel, the same couldn't be said when the team hosted the Sarnia Legionnaires on Sunday.
The Maroons scored eight goals, outshooting Sarnia 67-21.
The first period saw the Maroons score three times. McChesney scored his sixth goal from Boris Genov and Jaxon Priddle, before Zanutto found the back of the net for his 13th goal from Carter Chadwick, and Aidan Edwards got his second goal unassisted.
Dylan Richter extended the Maroons' lead in the second period with his fifth goal. Getting the helpers were Ian Lachance and Genov.
McChesney scored his second goal of the game later in the period, with the assists going to Harding and Priddle.
Chadwick added his fifth of the season in the third period from McChesney and Priddle. Edwards got his third goal less than a minute later from Priddle and Carter Kucher.
Sarnia got its only goal of the game halfway through the period from Anton Smirnov.
Max Skinner made it an even eight goals for the Maroons with his fifth of the season. Lisi and Bo Doxtator with the assists.
Blake Verberne made 20 saves for the win.
The Maroons are back in action on Thursday, on the road against Sarnia. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
