Break and Enter Charge

A woman has been charged with break and enter after allegations that she broke into a house in Chatham to eat.

Chatham-Kent police allege the woman entered through an unlocked back door at a Birmingham Avenue house in Chatham on Tuesday morning and ate food in the kitchen.

The homeowner asked her to leave, but when the accused got outside, she also took food from an unlocked vehicle in the driveway.

The homeowner yelled at her to get out of the vehicle, which she did, but then she just stood at the end of the driveway.

It's unclear if the suspect and the homeowner knew each other.

A 46-year-old unidentified Chatham-Kent woman has been charged with breaking and entering to commit theft.

Intimate Partner Violence

A criminal harassment charge has been laid against a 19-year-old man after a mother reported that her daughter was being stalked.

Chatham-Kent police said they received a report from a woman on Monday saying that her daughter had been repeatedly followed by her ex-boyfriend.

Police said they investigated the complaint and formed grounds to arrest the man.

The unidentified man was arrested on Tuesday at an undisclosed location on Third Street in Chatham.

Intimate Partner Violence

Allegations of biting a man and threatening to stab him has resulted in charges against a Wallaceburg woman.

Chatham-Kent police alleged a 23-year-old woman from Wallaceburg bit a man on the arm and threatened to stab him on Monday night during a disturbance at an undisclosed address in Wallaceburg.

Police said the man didn't suffer any permanent physical injuries.

The unidentified woman was charged with assault and uttering death threats.
