The Mobile Care Team in Chatham-Kent is teaming up with the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) Stroke Strategy Team to bring life-saving education directly to the community this month.
June is stroke awareness month and the teams are available to teach the public what a stroke is, what the warning signs are, and how to reduce the risk.
Health officials noted it's wise to take a few minutes to connect with health care professionals who are passionate about keeping Chatham-Kent safe and healthy.
"When it comes to stroke, knowing what to look for can change everything," said CKHA officials. "Stop by to chat with the team about recognizing the signs, acting fast, and protecting your health."
The mobile clinic provides free, private, walk-in health services locally. No registration, no health card, and no appointment are required.
The program is managed by the Canadian Mental Health Association Lambton Kent, and works with Chatham-Kent EMS, CKHA, local health centres, and the Ontario Health Team.
CKHA said the next stops for the rolling clinic are June 12 at Wallaceburg Community Living located at 1100 Dufferin Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m., June 15 in North Buxton at 21975 AD Shadd Road from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and June 19 at the Dresden Arena located at 1212 North Street between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
