Several Chatham-Kent schools granted funding for upgrades

The St. Clair Catholic District School Board (SCCDSB) has approved another $2.74 million for new capital projects at local schools.

Six projects were approved at the school board's last meeting, three of which are in Chatham-Kent while the other three are in Sarnia-Lambton.

Holy Family Catholic School in Wallaceburg will receive $292,545 for accessibility and security upgrades.

St. Elizabeth Catholic School will also get funding for accessibility and security upgrades. The Wallaceburg school will receive $283,299.

Chatham's St. Angela Merici and St. Teresa of Calcutta will get the top amount for CK-based schools, receiving $351,993 to install portables.

This announcement follows one from last month that saw $373,844 pledged to St. Anne Catholic School for asphalt and yard improvements.

Combined, all eight approved projects will cost more than $4.33 million. They are aimed at making SCCDSB schools safe, modern, and inclusive for all students and staff.

The funding comes from $6.8 million provided to the school board by the Ministry of Education for 2025-2026.
