Closures across CK for May long weekend

Whether you're in town this weekend or you're off camping, there will be closures across Chatham-Kent (CK).

Municipal offices and most services will be closed on Monday in recognition of Victoria Day. This includes Public Works, Employment and Social Services, Fleet Services, and Housing Services. If there is a housing or homeless emergency, the Homeless Response Line is available at 519-354-6628.

The Public Utilities Commission and Entegrus will also be closed on Monday.

Provincial services, such as Service Ontario and the provincial courts, will be closed. While offices are closed, it is still possible to pay for fines online here.

Chatham-Kent Public Health will be closed for the holiday and Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) will have altered services.

Some outpatient diagnostic tests will still take place on Victoria Day; those with scheduled appointments are advised to go. Hemodialysis Care will be open, as will Emergency Departments at both the Chatham and Wallaceburg sites.

All arenas are closed on Monday, so are pools, with the exception of the Blenheim Gable Rees Rotary Pool and Wallaceburg Sydenham Pool.

Municipally run libraries, theatres, galleries, and museums will also be shut.

Leaf and Yard Depots and Landfills will be closed on Monday. Curbside garbage and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day for the entire week.

Public transport users will be out of luck as all Ride CK Transit services will not be operating on Victoria Day.
