The 2026 Gleaning Project Grant is now accepting submissions.
The Grant is funded by the Chatham-Kent Food Policy Council (CKFPC) in partnership with Chatham-Kent (CK) Public Health.
Gleaning, the practice of gathering leftover fruits and vegetables after the main harvest, plays a crucial role in supporting community food security across the region.
“Gleaning offers a practical, community-driven way to ensure more people in CK have consistent access to fresh, local food,” says CK councillor and CKFPC Chair Carmen McGregor. “We are excited to partner with an agency that will continue to grow this impactful effort.”
Foods collected will be donated to food banks, soup kitchens, and community meal programs.
The successful applicant will be a community-focused partner who will work with local farmers and coordinate volunteers for gleaning activities.
A total of $25,000 worth of funding is available, and applications will be accepted until April 1.
