54K drug bust in Chatham nets six suspects

Six people have been arrested and charged following a drug bust in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said the suspects were taken into custody after a raid at a home on Sarah Crescent in Chatham on Thursday evening.

Officers seized 354 grams of methamphetamine, 186 grams of cocaine, 69 grams of fentanyl, a loaded Glock 26 Gen 5 9mm handgun, digital scales, packaging materials, a debt list, and both genuine and counterfeit Canadian cash, according to police.

They noted the seized drugs have an estimated street value of nearly $54,000.

Police said the suspects, all in their 20s and 30s, were charged with possession of fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and various firearms offences.

Police reported that all of the accused are men, except one. All of them are from Chatham, with the exception of one man from Brampton.

"The Chatham-Kent Police Service remains committed to disrupting illegal drug activity and removing illegal firearms from our community," said police.
