Suspect Pulls Knife on Officer

A 19-year-old man has been charged with allegedly pulling a knife on a Chatham-Kent (CK) police officer.

At about 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, several officers spotted a group of people on King Street West.

After confronting the group, one person reportedly ran across the street and jumped a fence. Police said he later came back holding a knife and decided to run towards one of the officers.

According to police, the man threw away the weapon before reaching the officer.

He was arrested and charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He's since been released with a future court date.

Impaired Driver

CK police have charged a 19-year-old man with impaired driving after a vehicle crashed into a tree.

The incident happened before on Keil Drive in Chatham just before 9 p.m. on Monday.

The man was arrested after police said he refused to provide a breath sample.

He was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample.

He's since been released with a future court date.
