CKHA names new Chief of Surgery

A local doctor has been named the next Chief of Surgery for the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA).

Chris Anjema is taking on this role as well as Co-Medical Director of the Surgical Program.

"His desire for excellence in patient care and his commitment to continuous improvement will drive us forward as a surgical program and as a hospital," said Dr. Zeke Milkovic, CKHA's Chief of Staff.

There's a good chance that anyone who's needed an eye operation may be familiar with Anjema, as he's been providing ophthalmological services since 2004.

This new position will be his second leadership role at CKHA, as he's been the Head of Ophthalmology since 2024.

"I look forward to providing leadership that is caring, kind, responsible, and accountable to patients, as well as the organization we serve, and the community that depends on CKHA’s surgical services," said Anjema.
