Assault
Chatham-Kent police have arrested one person after reports of an assault.
Officers were called Saturday morning after a verbal argument became physical.
Investigators say a 47-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman, both from Chatham, were seated in a car, where the suspect allegedly assaulted the victim.
The victim was transported to the hospital for medical attention, and a warrant was issued for the man after police found grounds to charge him with assault.
On Sunday, at roughly 1 p.m., officers found the accused near Junction Avenue in Chatham.
The man was arrested and has been released with conditions and a future court date.
Assault with a Weapon
A 9-1-1 hang-up call has resulted in the seizure of multiple knives.
Police allege that a verbal disagreement escalated at a Chatham business, and the suspect threatened people with a knife, following one person outside of the business.
At 5:05 p.m. on Sunday, CK police responded to the business on Park Avenue East and located the 62-year-old accused man outside.
After conducting a search, officers seized multiple knives and the man was arrested.
He has been charged with assault, assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The man is currently being held for bail.
