The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is pulling more Pizza Pops from store shelves due to possible E. Coli contamination.
The agency recalled various-sized packages of the pepperoni and bacon snacks in December, and following an investigation, the list of affected products has been extended.
That list includes:
Three Cheese - 4 and 30 snack packages
Pepperoni - 4 and 30 snack packages
Supremo Extreme Pepperoni and Bacon - 30 snack packages
Pepperoni and Bacon - 4 and 30 snack packages
Three Meat - 4 snack packages
Deluxe - 4, 8, and 30 snack packages
If you have any of these products, CFIA suggests throwing them away or returning them to the store.
Food contaminated with E. coli may not look or smell spoiled, but can still cause illness.
Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps, and watery to bloody diarrhea. In severe cases of illness, seizures, strokes, kidney damage, the need for blood transfusions and kidney dialysis, or even death.
According to CFIA, more products could be recalled as the investigation continues.
