Flare Gun Used in Wallaceburg
A 31-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly shot off a flare gun in Wallaceburg.
On Sunday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police received reports of a weapon being fired on Wallace Street.
Officers later determined that a man had used a flare gun before taking off.
No one was injured in the incident.
According to police, he was later found at the corner of Murray Street and Wallace Street and arrested.
He's since been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless use of a firearm, discharge of a firearm into or at a place in a reckless manner, and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
He's been released from police custody with a future court date.
Disturbance
CK police have charged a 41-year-old man for reportedly disturbing municipal crews while they were clearing snow.
Officers were called to Fourth Street in Chatham on Friday, where they were told that a man was screaming, swearing, and attempting to stop workers using snowplows.
Police said that the man also struck one of the plows' windows.
He was arrested and charged with mischief under $5,000.
He remains in police custody with his next court appearance scheduled for January 29.
Break and Enter
A 56-year-old man has been charged in connection with the break-in of a Chatham home.
The alleged incident happened on Water Street on Saturday.
Officers determined that the man broke in through the back door before leaving.
He was later found on the same street and arrested, police said.
He's since been charged with breaking and entering and resisting a peace officer.
He remains in police custody.
