Chatham-Kent made $441,738 in casino revenue for the third quarter of the fiscal year.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) Corporation made the payment to the municipality for hosting Cascades Casino Chatham between October 1 and December 31. The payment is about $20,000 less than was made in the second quarter, between July and September.
Communities hosting casinos in Ontario have received non-tax gaming revenue from OLG since 1994.
"Year after year, a share of the revenue from Cascades Casino Chatham through OLG's Municipality Contribution Agreement has been an important source of funding for Chatham-Kent, helping to deliver vital services and helping to enhance the quality of life of local residents," said Trevor Jones, MPP for Chatham-Kent-Leamington. "Host communities benefit from their share of local casino revenue, while all Ontarians benefit from OLG's gaming revenues, as 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in communities across the province."
In the first three quarters of the fiscal year, CK has received $1,378,344.
Since the gaming site opened in April 2001, the municipality has brought in $20,921,267.
