Chatham-Kent has several options for tossing your Christmas tree

Tuesday, January 6 is National Take Down the Christmas Tree Day.

That has many people wondering what to do with their real Christmas tree now that the holidays are over.

Chatham-Kent residents are advised to remove all decorations and plastic before disposing of them.

Trees that are taken to a leaf and yard depot will be recycled or composted, while trees collected at the curb will be sent to the landfill for disposal.

Christmas trees must be left at the curb by January 16 on your garbage pick-up day. If you miss pick-up, you can schedule a bulk item collection.
