Michigan driver charged with stunt driving on Hwy. 401

A 39-year-old from Michigan has been charged with excessive speeding after doing almost 60 kilometres per hour over the speed limit on Highway 401 in Chatham-Kent.

Elgin OPP pulled the car over on Saturday evening after the driver was caught going 159 km/h in a 100 km/h zone of Highway 401 East in Chatham-Kent.

The driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with stunt driving.

Police impounded the vehicle and the driver's licence was suspended for 30 days.
