High winds expected across southern Ontario for Friday

You'll want to hang onto your hat if you're out and about on Friday, and some of you may see some snow as well.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for all of southwestern Ontario.

The weather agency said southerly winds will pick up starting on Friday morning. By afternoon, the winds will shift to westerly, with gusts reaching as high as 90 kilometres per hour.

Utility outages, downed branches, and downed hydro lines are possible before winds die down late Friday or early Saturday.
