Donation to help keep local students warm

A Chatham business has stepped up to support Noelle's Gift Closet Initiative.

RJ Equipment in Blenheim has committed to providing a full year of supplies for Tecumseh Public School in Chatham.

The Closet Initiative makes sure that students have access to everyday essentials by stocking a school "closet" with clothing, hygiene items, and other everyday essentials for students who may need them.

Officials said it helps students feel more confident, supported, and ready to learn, noting that small comforts can make a significant difference in a child's school day.

Tecumseh is the first school in Chatham to get its closet sponsored, but Noelle's Gift is looking to get more businesses on board.

Noelle's Gift to Children was launched in 2013 in memory of Noelle Paquette, an educator who always made sure her students had all the supplies needed to succeed.
