Break and Enter Arrest
Chatham-Kent police have charged a 46-year-old Chatham man following a break and enter at a business on Sandy Street.
Police were called to the property on November 14, after alarms were triggered inside a secured compound.
Investigators say the suspect climbed over a barbed-wire fence, searched the property, and then fled when security systems activated. In the process, the fence was bent and damaged.
According to police, he was already bound by a release order issued on September 16, which required him to remain at his residence between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., conditions he was breaching at the time of the offence.
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Friday, officers arrested the man and charged him with failure to comply with his release order, along with break and enter with the intent to commit mischief.
