Chatham-Kent wasn't hard hit by the lack of rain this summer.
The Kent Federation of Agriculture (KFA) said crop yields are good to very good in Kent and Essex counties.
KFA President Jim Brackett told CK News Today that his yield this year is the best he's ever had.
Some parts of the province, especially parts of Central Ontario, were hard hit by the lack of rain.
The Canadian Drought Monitor showed that Kent and Essex Counties are currently abnormally dry, but not in a state of drought.
As of September 2025, approximately 42 per cent (453,170 square kilometers) of Ontario is under drought conditions, and 30 per cent (324,733 square kilometers) is abnormally dry.
Forecasters reported that Southwestern Ontario experienced a drier-than-normal summer, with several regions receiving less than half their typical seasonal rainfall from June to August.
It was not the driest summer on record because heavy rainfall in late September helped alleviate some of the dryness, bringing precipitation close to normal for the month of September in some areas.
