CKHA hires 13 employees after eliminating managerial positions

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has welcomed over ten new employees following the elimination of some managerial positions.

Earlier this month, senior leadership at CKHA said it had terminated eight positions due to current financial challenges and to better align with its new strategic plan.

However, according to a post on the CKHA's Facebook page, the Health Alliance has welcomed 13 new employees who will join various departments and services across its sites.

"CKHA regularly reviews the organizational structure to ensure we are operating as effectively as possible. The recent management restructuring was part of that process," said Communications Director Fannie Vavoulis. "Despite the elimination of eight management positions, CKHA continues to employ over 1,500 people and regular turnover and replacement is inevitable."

The new hires include one Decision Support Specialist, one Operating Room Support Assistant, three Registration Clerks, one Registered Dietitian, one Respiratory Therapist, three Registered Nurses, two Registered Practical Nurses, and one Speech Language Pathologist.
