Bail Violation Arrest
A 54-year-old man from Chatham, previously charged with assaulting two family members, has been arrested again for allegedly breaching his bail conditions just hours after he was released on bail.
Chatham-Kent police reported the suspect was arrested on Monday night at an address on Park Avenue West in Chatham after he was told to not communicate in any way, either directly or indirectly, by any physical, electronic, or other means with the complainants in the assault case.
Police said the accused was also not allowed to be within 50 metres of any location where the complainants live, work, attend school, frequent, or any place he knows the complainants would be, including Park Avenue West in Chatham.
"Officers were advised that the accused was on the property, Park Avenue West, Chatham and attempting to access the rear door of the residence," police said. "Police arrived shortly thereafter and located the accused on the property."
The man is facing two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

Warrant Arrest
A Wheatley man wanted in Chatham-Kent on an arrest warrant is facing more charges after failing to attend court.
Chatham-Kent police said the 27-year-old suspect was arrested on Monday night by Essex County Ontario Provincial Police and returned to Chatham-Kent police.
According to CK police, he was previously charged with possession of stolen property and obstructing a peace officer.

Driver Arrested for Failing to Move Over
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Chatham-Kent have charged a 28-year-old Scarborough man for failure to move into another lane for an emergency vehicle or tow truck.
The CK OPP reported an officer stopped a vehicle traveling westbound on Highway 401 near Dillon Road in Chatham-Kent on Friday at approximately 3:05 a.m. after the vehicle allegedly failed to move into another lane while passing a tow truck that was in the process of removing a disabled vehicle.
"The OPP remind drivers and members of the public to respect our communities, comply with all laws and not jeopardize the safety of our citizens or our neighbourhoods with risky, illegal, and dangerous actions," said the OPP.
The OPP reminds the public to dial 911 or contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 to report impaired drivers and dangerous driving.
