A Chatham man with a long list of charges has been arrested again after police alleged he failed to obey his bail conditions and skipped court.
Chatham-Kent police said the 55-year-old wanted man has been arrested and released three times over the past seven months following a break and enter investigation and for allegedly violating his bail conditions and not attending court.
The latest arrest was on Thursday morning while attending Chatham court. Police alleged he skipped court in February 2025 and an arrest warrant was issued.
Police said the break and enter investigation began in August 2024 after approximately $67,000 worth of property was stolen and sold. The stolen property was eventually recovered and returned to the owners.
The man is now facing several charges, including break and enter, theft, possession of stolen property, and trafficking in stolen goods, as a result of the break and enter investigation, according to police.
He's also charged with failing to comply with a release order after allegedly not obeying a court order in October 2024 to stay in his residence between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. and not notifying authorities of a change in address.
