Facebook post tips off alert citizen to stolen truck
Chatham-Kent police got some help from an alert citizen to track down a pickup truck that was reported stolen from a business in Thamesville early Wednesday morning.
Police said a citizen who saw a post on Facebook about the theft from a business on Longwoods Road contacted police after seeing the white truck in the Dresden area.
The truck was reported stolen at around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday and the call to police was at around 8:30 p.m. the same day.
Officers were able to confirm that it was the same truck that was stolen earlier in the day and the truck was returned to its rightful owner.
There's no word on whether any arrests were made or if police are pursuing any charges in the case.

Deer collision leads to thousands of dollars in damage
Chatham-Kent police said the damage was estimated at $8,000 after a vehicle hit a deer on River Line at Harwich Road overnight.
Police said the deer ran out onto the road at 12:01 a.m. Thursday and the driver was not hurt as a result of the crash.

Man and woman arrested after breaching release conditions
A 41-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman who weren't supposed to be around each other are facing future court dates after police found them together in Wallaceburg.
CK police said they found the pair while officers were responding to a disturbance call shortly after 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The man and the woman were both arrested and taken to Chatham-Kent police headquarters and charged with failing to comply with a release order before they were released with a future court date.
