Man hospitalized after truck hauling corn goes into the ditch

A 65-year-old man was taken to the hospital with head and shoulder injuries after a transport truck carrying corn went off the road and into the ditch in the Tilbury area Tuesday morning.

Chatham-Kent police said they are still investigating the collision, adding that the man's injuries were considered non-life threatening.

The vehicle went off the road at around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and landed on its side.

Two arrests for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent police can cross off two more names from their wanted list after catching up with a pair of people who were both wanted on warrants.

And they were both arrested on the same street.

A 41-year-old man who was wanted for allegedly failing to attend court was arrested on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. He had previously been released on several charges including failing to attend a scheduled court appearance.

He won't miss his next court date, though, because he was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.

In a separate case, a 30-year-old woman who was wanted for breaching a probation condition was arrested at around 1 a.m. Wednesday on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

She was later released with a future court date.
