CKHA welcomes new psychiatrist

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has hired someone to take care of residents' mental health.

Dr. Gbola Otun joins the organization as a psychiatrist, bringing many years of education, specialized training, and experience.

Dr. Otun studied at the University of Lagos in Nigeria, where he completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). In 2006, he earned a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) as an Adult General Psychiatrist with a sub-specialization in Substance Misuse Psychiatry.

He spent years practicing as a psychiatrist in England before deciding to make the move to Ontario.

"I am excited to join the CKHA team," said Dr. Otun. "Chatham is renowned for its rich cultural heritage and offers me the opportunity to engage in various forms of outdoor sports. I am eagerly looking forward to my first RetroFest and to helping the local population by providing excellent care."

Dr. Otun added that he's also passionate about teaching and is eager to mentor future doctors during their medical training.
