Large COVID outbreak at Riverview Gardens declared over

Riverview Gardens in Chatham is once again COVID-19 free.

The long-term care facility had been dealing with an outbreak since September 25, however, it was officially declared over on Tuesday.

Over 70 people were affected. Of those, 50 were residents and 22 were staff members.

All activities in the Great Room, which includes church services and pub, are able to happen again, while gatherings can once again be booked in the third floor and fifth floor multi-purpose rooms.

The hair-salon has also opened back up.

People entering no longer need to wear a surgical mask.
