Beattie Foundation donates $50K for hospice families

The Chatham-Kent Hospice Foundation (CKHF) has received a generous donation that will help families who have a loved one in hospice care.

CKHF announced Wednesday that the James A. Beattie Foundation of Wardsville made a recent donation of $50,000.

"The Beattie Foundation, in their quiet and unassuming way, continues to make a big impact in Chatham-Kent," shared Jodi Maroney CKHF's Executive Director. "We are very grateful for their care and compassion towards local families as they say goodbye to their loved ones."

The Foundation was created in 1958 in memory of James A. Beattie and has a long history of community giving to childrens' and seniors' charities in the region.

CKHF said that to date, the Beattie Foundation has donated over $130,000 in support of local families who access care at Chatham-Kent Hospice.

Since opening in April 2016, Chatham-Kent Hospice has served over 1,450 families. They have also provided grief and bereavement support to over 1,900 local individuals.
