Pedestrian suffers life-threatening injuries in collision

A 47-year-old man was airlifted to hospital in Windsor following a crash in Chatham.

Around 7:57 p.m. on Thursday, first responders were called to a collision between a pedestrian and a car on Grand Avenue West, near Woods Street.

Police said the pedestrian was taken to a local hospital where his injuries were determined to be life-threatening. He was then air-lifted to a hospital in Windsor for further medical treatment.

Police continue to investigate the collision.

Merlin man charged with impaired driving

A Merlin man is facing impaired driving charges after his pick-up truck ended up in a ditch.

Police responded to a single-vehicle crash just after 3 a.m. Friday to find a truck had left the roadway and rolled into a ditch. When officers arrived they found the driver and believed him to be intoxicated.

The incident happened on St. Philippe's Line, near Big Pointe Road, in Dover Township.

A 20-year-old man was arrested and taken to police headquarters for further testing.

Man arrested twice following indecent act

A Chatham-Kent man was arrested at the same restaurant twice in one day.

At 10:18 a.m. on Thursday, police say a 54-year-old man went into a restaurant on Third Street in Chatham and gave the other diners a show they weren't prepared for.

Officers were told that the man exposed himself and urinated on the floor, in front of everyone.

The man was arrested and later released from police custody with conditions, including one banning him from the restaurant.

Later that evening the man returned to the eatery where he was arrested again.

The man faces charges of committing an indecent act and failing to comply with an undertaking.

Pair of Tilbury teens facing charges

Two teenagers were arrested Thursday after a disturbance on Pearl Street in Tilbury.

According to investigators, a young woman and a young man got into a verbal argument that escalated and resulted in the woman being attacked.

The 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats.

The 16-year-old female was also arrested, as police discovered that she was violating a court order by being at the address and coming into contact with the other teen.
