Man arrested for aggravated assault and utter threats

On Friday, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance in Ridgetown involving two adult men who were known to each other. One man was taken to hospital with injuries.

On Saturday, police were able to speak with the injured man and as a result a 66-year-old Combermere man was arrested for aggravated assault and uttering threats.

He was taken into custody and released with a pending court date.

Man in custody charged with mischief and assaulting a police officer

On Friday, a 41-year-old Chatham man was arrested for fail to attend court and breach of probation.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on Saturday. The man was advised he would be released on bail on a Form 11 release, which is an order releasing exhibits for scientific testing.

The man reacted to this information by causing damage to the cell block area. He was advised he would be further charged with mischief and reacted by spitting on the responding officer.

The man was not released and was held on bail pending his new charges.

Man arrested on warrant

On Saturday, a 46-year-old Chatham man was arrested by a loss prevention at a local retail store for attempting to steal a product.

Chatham-Kent police responded and identified the man. He was found to have three outstanding warrants; one of which was unendorsed.

The man was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
