Man Arrested for Assault Causing Bodily Harm

A 53-year-old Chatham man has been arrested as part of a multi-month assault investigation.

The alleged incident happened back in June, however, the suspect was arrested on Sunday.

He's since been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 21, 2024.

Chatham Man Arrested for Bail Violation

A 35-year-old man in Chatham can thank himself for getting caught with a controlled substance.

Police received a report of the man leaving his residence Sunday night, which violated his bail conditions since he wasn't with his surety.

He was also charged with failing to comply with a release order.

Commercial Break and Enter

A business on King Street West is looking at a roughly $1,100 bill after it was broken into.

Around 3 a.m. on Monday, a patrol officer noticed that the front window of the property had been smashed.

The only thing taken from the business was the cash drawer which was later found in the area.

Residential Break and Enter

Chatham-Kent Police are investigating a home break-in that happened sometime last week.

It's believed someone entered a detached garage on the property located on Taylor Avenue and stole an unknown amount of items.

Police were notified on Sunday, however, the incident could have happened anytime over the previous five days.

Provincial police in Chatham-Kent are giving credit to a tipster for helping officers to stop a driver who was going way too fast on Highway 401 over the weekend.
