Wanted CK man arrested for stealing from store

A 45-year-old Chatham-Kent man who was already wanted by police is facing more than a dozen charges after he allegedly stole from a grocery store in Chatham.

Chatham-Kent police said they arrested the man after they were called to the store on St. Clair Street near Pioneer Line for a theft investigation shortly after 2:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the man allegedly removed some items from the store and then left without paying for them.

He was arrested a short distance away and police also confirmed that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for breaching his bail conditions.

The man is currently charged with two counts each of theft, possession of stolen property, failing to attend court, and failing to comply with a release order along with one count each of mischief, unauthorized use of a credit card, and fraud.

He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Man accused of breaching release conditions by visiting pharmacy

A 28-year-old Chatham-Kent man is facing a pair of charges after he went into a pharmacy on St. Clair Street near McNaughton Avenue in Chatham that he had been banned from attending.

Police said they were called to the building shortly after 9 p.m. Wednesday and learned that the man had been seen inside the store.

They found him a short distance away and arrested him.

The man was taken to police headquarters and was set to be held there pending a bail hearing. He is facing charges of uttering threats and failing to comply with an undertaking.

CK man accused of trying to steal fuel

A 54-year-old Chatham-Kent man has been arrested and charged in connection with a break-in at a commercial property on Queen Street North in Tilbury.

CK police said they arrested him shortly after 2 a.m. Thursday when they found him attempting to steal some fuel.

Police said the man was taken to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date.

He was charged with break and enter in connection with the case.

Police arrest wanted man in Chatham

A 27-year-old Chatham man who was wanted for violating his bail conditions is spending some more time in police custody.

Police said they arrested him on St. Clair Street near Cornhill Street in Chatham shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

He was taken to police headquarters where he was set to be held pending a bail hearing.

The accused is charged with eight counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property, and one count each of theft, possession of a stolen credit card, and failing to comply with a release order.
