Police looking for help to track down credit card fraudsters

Chatham-Kent police are asking for your help to track down some suspects after a wallet was stolen from a vehicle in Chatham.

Officers said someone stole the wallet from a vehicle on Colborne Street on July 13 and that the credit and debit cards that were inside the wallet were later used to make several purchases throughout Chatham.

Police have shared some of the images that were captured of those transactions and they're asking for tips from anyone with information that could help them track down the suspects.

You can provide information anonymously by submitting a tip through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

Wallaceburg man taken to Windsor jail after arrest

A 37-year-old Wallaceburg man is spending some time at the Southwest Regional Detention Centre after he turned himself in at Chatham-Kent police headquarters Tuesday morning.

CK police said he turned himself in just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday and was wanted for breaching his conditional sentence order.

He was arrested and taken into custody pending a bail hearing, then transferred to the Southwest Regional Detention Centre pending his next court appearance.

Chatham-Kent woman accused of skipping court

A 64-year-old Chatham-Kent woman who was wanted for skipping her court date is spending some time at the Southwest Regional Detention Centre while she waits for her next appearance before a judge.

CK police said the woman showed up at the Ontario Court of Justice on Grand Avenue West in Chatham shortly after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and officers confirmed she was wanted on an outstanding warrant for missing a previously scheduled court date.

She was taken into custody pending a bail hearing, then transferred to the Windsor Jail pending her next court appearance on August 20.

The woman is currently charged with two counts of failing to attend court, one count of theft, and one count of possession of stolen property.

Suspicious person ends up being wanted by OPP

Chatham-Kent police managed to track down a wanted man while they were following up on some suspicious activity in Chatham.

CK police said they found the man on William Street at around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and confirmed he was wanted on a warrant held by Middlesex Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in connection with a break and enter investigation.

The 55-year-old Chatham man was arrested and later released to OPP custody.
