London man found dead in Dresden swimming pool
Chatham-Kent police say foul play is not suspected after they found an unresponsive man in a swimming pool in Dresden Sunday evening.
Officers said emergency crews were called to the residence on Cross Street in Dresden just before 6 p.m. Sunday, adding that first responders provided life-saving efforts, but the 20-year-old London man was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said its members are sending their deepest condolences to the man’s family and friends.
The man's name was not released to the public.

Man arrested for carrying airsoft AK-47
A 47-year-old Chatham man is facing charges after he was allegedly seen running around with a replica assault rifle.
Chatham-Kent police said they were called to the area of Grand Avenue East in Chatham shortly before 8 p.m. Monday for a report of a man who was seen carrying what appeared to be an AK-47 assault rifle.
When police showed up, they found the man carrying a firearm.
He was arrested and police seized the gun, later determining that it was an airsoft rifle that resembled an automatic firearm.
Police also learned that the man had previously been banned from carrying weapons.
The man was later released with a future court date.

Suspects caught on camera in Tilbury theft
Chatham-Kent police have released some surveillance photos as they try to track down someone who stole some equipment from a business on Queen Street North in Tilbury last week Friday.
Police said the individuals pictured below were recorded removing some equipment from the business on August 9, 2024, adding that the equipment was recovered nearby and returned to the owner.

Chatham youth arrested for skipping court
A 17-year-old Chatham youth who was already facing an assault charge is in more trouble with the law after she allegedly skipped a court date this summer, too.
Chatham-Kent police said they arrested the teen on June 4 and that she was later released with conditions and a future court date, which she failed to show up for.
The teen turned herself in at the courthouse on Grand Avenue West just after 12 p.m. on Monday and was later released from custody with a new court date.

Wanted man turns himself in
A 45-year-old Chatham man who was wanted on a DNA warrant has turned himself in.
CK police said he showed up at police headquarters at around 8:30 a.m. Monday.
The DNA warrant was processed and he was later released from custody.
