CK is all revved up for Retrofest 2024 in downtown Chatham

Get your motor running with Retrofest 2024 in downtown Chatham this weekend.

The festivities get underway on Friday.

"Tecumseh Park is going to open at 3 p.m. and we're going to go until 11 p.m." said Kaitlin Goulet, Retrofest Coordinator for the Historic Downtown Chatham BIA. "We'll have vendors, food trucks, live music, a kid zone."

The park will be open on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

There will also be an adult beverage garden, while the kid zone will feature ziplines, paddle board, and a Nerf Area.

The Parking Lot Party is on Friday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Downtown Chatham Centre parking lot and the annual Miss Retrofest Pageant is on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. at Tecumseh Park.

Registration for the downtown car show is on Saturday between 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. at King Street and Fifth Street.

Goulet added that the car show on Saturday usually brings in around 600 classic cars.

"We'll have the streets open for the car show, awards at 2 p.m. Ms. Retrofest. Everything that typically happens, we've got it happening this weekend."

Volunteers from R.O.C.K. Missions will also be selling tickets throughout the weekend for a Retrofest 50/50 Draw.

"You can find them in the park, they'll be wearing t-shirts and you can scan the back of them if you want," said Goulet. "That raffle wil be running until May 31st at 7 p.m."

You can also purchase tickets for the 50/50 draw online.

On Sunday from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m., there will be buskers and live music at the Garden on King restaurant.

A number of streets in downtown Chatham will be closed. On Friday, William St. between Murray and Stanley Streets, and Stanley St. between William and Thames Streets

Road closures on Saturday include King Street from Second to Third St. and Third St. to William St. with Third St. remaining open to through traffic. But Fifth St. including the bridge, will be closed between Thames St. and Wellington St.
