A 27-year-old West Lorne man is facing a handful of charges after a traffic stop in Chatham turned into a drug bust.
Chatham-Kent police said they pulled a vehicle over on Grand Avenue East in Chatham on Thursday as part of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation and arrested the driver.
Police said they carried out a search during the arrest and allegedly found some fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine with an estimated combined street value of over $45,000.
Officers also said the man didn't have a valid driver's license.
The accused was arrested and charged with four counts of driving while prohibited and three counts of drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.
He was later released with conditions and a future court date, but the vehicle he was driving was seized as part of the Criminal Code Vehicle Impound Program and held pending further judicial authorization.
