Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame seeking nominations

Nominations are now open for the Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame.

The organization is looking to honour individuals who have demonstrated unselfish achievement within the agricultural sector and service to the rural community of Chatham-Kent.

Each year, three to five individuals are chosen from the list of submitted nominees and are recognized at the annual induction ceremony held in November.

If you know someone who you feel should be honoured for their accomplishments, the Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame board of directors wants to hear from you.

The submission deadline for Hall of Fame nominations is March 31, 2024.

All nominations received by that date will receive consideration by the board at their spring meeting, however nominations can be submitted at any time throughout the year for consideration next year.

Last year, the hall of fame inducted the late Ron Anderson of former Dover Township, the late Doug Arbour of Chatham, Diane and Robert Devolder, and Kathleen (Kay) Quinton of former Orford Township.

To date, 206 of Kent County’s most accomplished individuals in the agricultural community, including primary production, extension and research, education, government, business and stewardship, have been recognized.

For more information and a copy of the nomination form, please go to the Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame website or contact Kathryn Vanek at 519-683-2929.
