Three Chatham residents are facing charges after an alleged assault in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent police said their investigation started when they were called to an address on Running Creek Drive in Wallaceburg shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Officers said they learned that three people had shown up at the victim's address in a vehicle, at which point, two of the people approached the victim while the third person stayed behind.
One of the people who got out allegedly punched the victim while another used a taser on them.
All three of the accused then took off in the vehicle, but police were able to track them down on Devonshire Road in Chatham.
The suspects were all arrested and taken back to police headquarters.
When police searched them, they allegedly found two tasers and some suspected oxycodone tablets.
A 47-year-old Chatham man was charged with being a party to an assault, being a party to an assault with a weapon, and possession of a banned weapon. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
A 43-year-old Chatham man was charged with three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, two counts of failing to comply with a probation order, and one count each of assault, being a party to an assault with a weapon, and failing to comply with a release order. He was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
A 39-year-old Chatham woman was charged with three counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, two counts of being a party to an assault and two counts of possession of a banned weapon. She was also charged with one count each of assault and assault with a weapon and was set to be held in custody pending a bail hearing.
