Disturbance call in Wheatley leads to arrest, assault charge

A 33-year-old man is facing an assault charge after Chatham-Kent police were called to investigate a domestic disturbance in Wheatley Sunday night.

Police said their investigation showed that the man had allegedly hit his girlfriend after an argument turned physical.

The accused was arrested, charged, and released with a future court date.

Family dispute turns violent

A 46-year-old man has been charged with assault after he allegedly hit a family member during a verbal argument on Sunday.

Police said they were called to the residence in Chatham Sunday night and arrested the man.

He was later released pending a future court date.

Pickup truck reported stolen in Chatham

Chatham-Kent police are appealing to the public for tips as they try to track down a red and black Ford F-150 that was reported stolen from a towing compound on Richmond Street in Chatham.

Police said the truck was taken sometime early Sunday morning and it was unplated at the time.
