The Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership has mobilized to support local businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Executive Officer Stephen Thompson said phones have been ringing off the hook and they're committed to helping any way they can.
"Although we're working remotely, we still have full phone access," said Thompson. "Every member of our team is able to respond to inquiries and by phone and by email and we've also developed a resource section on our website that's a great starting point for businesses that have questions and would like the most up-to-date information from a business standpoint."
He said the website has the latest information from both the provincial and federal governments.
"We're compiling the resources and providing links so there's a centralized source that people can come to, to see the programs and resources that are available. We're updating it on a daily basis and we're adding a new feature to it that shows when each item was updated as well as a new flag that identifies which is the newest thing that was added to the page."
Thompson said there are mixed reactions to the measures taken so far.
"I think it really is different for every type of business, whether they're an essential service and they're open, some such businesses are reporting that they're actually busier than ever. Of course that's not the case for most businesses that are really experiencing significant challenges as people follow medical advice to have social distancing."
