CK paramedics receive medals from the Governor General

Two paramedics from Chatham-Kent have received a big honour from the Governor General of Canada.

Beth Durocher and Amy Larsen are the newest recipients of the Governor General's Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Exemplary Service Medal.

The medal was presented at the annual Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs Honours and Awards Gala in Windsor Thursday night.

"On behalf of the paramedic staff and leadership team at Chatham-Kent EMS/Medavie EMS Ontario Chatham-Kent, General Manager Donald MacLellan would like to congratulate the medal recipients and acknowledge their hard work and dedication to the paramedic profession and the patients/clients they serve every day," MacLellan said in a statement.

The Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal was created in 1994 by the late Governor General Romeo LeBlanc.

The award is presented to paramedics who have served for at least twenty years and have shown the highest standards of good conduct, and efficiency.
