Cyclist, driver both charged after crash
Chatham-Kent police have charged two people in connection with a crash in downtown Chatham early Monday morning.
Officers said they were called to the scene at Fifth Street near Thames Street at around 7 a.m. to respond to a crash involving a cyclist.
Police said the 55-year-old Chatham man driving the vehicle was charged with failing to yield the right of way and the 29-year-old Chatham man riding the bike was charged with having improper lighting on his bicycle.
The damage was estimated at $500 and no injuries were reported.

Dispute between neighbours ends in an arrest
A 24-year-old man Chatham man is facing charges after allegedly threatening one of his neighbours while holding a pellet gun and a baseball bat.
Police said the man was arrested Sunday afternoon after police were called to respond to an argument between some neighbours in Chatham.
Officers said the man was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and uttering threats.
He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Domestic violence call leads to charges
A 20-year-old Chatham man has been arrested in connection with a domestic violence investigation.
Chatham-Kent police said they took him into custody after they were called to a disturbance at a residence in Chatham Sunday afternoon.
Officers said their investigation showed that there had been incidents of domestic violence between the couple during their relationship and as a result, the man was charged with four assault-related offences, two counts of forcible confinement, and one count of uttering threats.
Police said the accused was being held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two arrests on warrants
The law has caught up with a 48-year-old Chatham man and a 27-year-old Tilbury woman who were both wanted on outstanding warrants.
Police said the man -- wanted for failing to comply with his release conditions -- was arrested Sunday afternoon by an officer on general patrol. He was charged and later released with conditions and a future court date.
The woman -- wanted for unlawfully being in a dwelling, drug possession, and failing to attend court -- was arrested on Lorne Avenue in Chatham Sunday afternoon. She was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Superstore thefts
Chatham-Kent police are asking for help from the public in identifying two women in connection with two separate thefts from the Superstore in Chatham.
One of the thefts reportedly happened on November 21, the other took place sometime last week.
