A local furniture designer made it to one of Canada's premiere interior design shows.
Chatham's JM Fry Furniture Design was selected among entrants from across Canada to be awarded a coveted space in the Toronto Interior Design Show.
Their designs were showcased in the Studio North & Prototype section, which features custom work from a limited number of emerging designers.
“The Interior Design Show was inspirational and it was fantastic to be selected to showcase our work amongst the exceptional talent that was on display,” said Rose Linseman, co-founder of JM Fry Furniture Design.
During the show, they were able to feature a signature piece from the JM Fry Carbon collection as well as make some valuable business connections.
“While we are designing and building pieces that have interest from national and international clients, it’s not every day that we are able to attend an event of this calibre,” said John Fry, co-founder. “Our spalted maple carbon chair was a hit and opened a lot of doors to different conversations.”
JM Fry Furniture Design is a graduate of the Chatham-Kent Small Business Starter Company Plus Program. Rosemarie Montgomery, business consultant for the Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre, said this was a great chance to showcase local talent.
“When they told me they had won a limited spot in the prototype section, I knew that they would be a wonderful representation of the kinds of ground-breaking design coming from Chatham-Kent,” said Montgomery.
The cofounders of JM Fry Design said they hope to make this an annual trip.
