Wallaceburg's annual Antique Motor and Boating Outing will feature a new cruise route and stricter limits on car entries this year.
And even though construction is running a bit behind schedule on McNaughton Ave., WAMBO organizers say their biggest concern is the weather, not the road work.
"The construction crews seem to be doing a fine job with traffic flow and things like that," says WAMBO chair Bill Wolsing. "I'm sure that there will be at least one good coat of pavement on there, so there won't be any mud puddles or things like that."
This year's event will feature a couple of new components including a brand new route for the Terry Glover Memorial Cruise, which starts at 6pm on Friday, August 11.
The cruise will make its way through the downtown Wallaceburg area before heading up along the St. Clair Parkway to Sombra and back.
Friday and Saturday night will also feature live musical entertainment.
There will be stricter limits on which cars can be accepted into the classic car show. Only vehicles that are a 1983 model or older will be accepted and the show will be capped at the first 200 to sign up.
Organizers have decided to select a "featured" car, too. This year, anyone who's coming to WAMBO with a classic Cadillac will get in for free.
WAMBO is scheduled to run from August 11th to the 13th.
