A LaSalle native and Toronto Blue Jays strength coach is sharing the team's recent success with young local athletes. Patrick Szpak gave students at the Catholic board's sports academy some advice and a brief workout Thursday. "Give it all you got. Just because you might not make it as athlete doesn't mean that sports are done," he says. "There are so many avenues, so many opportunities within the sports world." As a minor league strength and conditioning coach, Szpak works with players from the beginning. "It's nice being able to be a part of the development process, seeing athletes grow and finding ways to make them better," Szpak says. The Jays are set to take on the Kansas City Royals tonight at 7:30p for Game 1 of the ALCS.
