King Reflects On Career

With his final Chatham-Kent Public Health board meeting in the books, Brian King's duties as a politician are officially done.

The former Ward 1 Councillor announced his retirement from politics earlier this year. Being chair of the health board, he reflects on some of the accomplishments they've reached. "The smoking bylaw, we were ahead of the province on that," says King. "And we've made some good strives with the nutritional food baskets."

King adds while he hasn't been back to council chambers, he has been following the action at the civic centre. "It's shaping up well... they've got a budget to deal with next year, so they'll have to keep their pencils sharp."

King's 25 year political career includes a 14 year stint on the Chatham-Kent Council.
