Maroons Down Vipers

The Chatham Maroons were able to snap a four-game losing steak after beating the LaSalle Vipers 7-5.

During the game Sunday night, Chatham finished the first period with a 3-0 lead over the Vipers. However, LaSalle quickly caught up, tying the game after three minutes into the second. Chatham gained a 6-4 lead going into the third and both teams scored in the final 20 minutes, giving the Maroons a win.

Maroons Coach Tyler Roeszler says it was a great feeling to finally get a win as the team's head coach.

"It was definitely a relief, a monkey off our back," he says. "I thought it wasn't the prettiest of wins, but we'll take it. We knew to get out of this slump it was going to take a dirty win like tonight, and that's exactly what it was."

The Vipers face off against the London Nationals on Wednesday at 7:30pm. The Maroons are back on Thursday to take on the Leamington Flyers at 7:10pm.
